Tina Khan

Tina Khan is the Director of Stakeholder and Community Relations at BC Infrastructure Benefits (BCIB), one of the largest employers of skilled tradespeople in the province, employing thousands of workers on to major public infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia. Tina helps lead the organization’s work with industry, labour, post-secondary institutions, various levels of government, and community partners.

Tina brings more than a decade of experience across workforce development, human resources, and organizational systems, with a career spanning the non-profit, private, and public sectors. Earlier in her career, Tina held senior HR and operations roles, leading large and diverse teams and supporting high-volume recruitment, training, and retention efforts. She has also worked in international development, working with government and multilateral partners to support gender equality and workforce-related programs.

Throughout her work, Tina has focused on the practical realities of how people enter, navigate, and progress through training and employment systems. At BCIB, this includes contributing to workforce planning, employer engagement, and discussions on emerging credential models such as micro-credentials and digital badges, with an emphasis on how skills are recognized, validated, and translated into meaningful labour market opportunities.

Tina approaches this work with curiosity and a strong appreciation for collaboration. As a speaker, she brings an on-the-ground perspective that connects policy and system design to lived experience, and she encourages thoughtful dialogue on how training, recognition, and credentials can better support a resilient and inclusive future workforce.
